Job Description

The Consultancy Group are currently engaged with a leading company within the Media field, looking to bring in a Tax Assistant Manager on a 1 year FTC to for a member of the team leaving on maternity leave. The company are looking for someone to fill the void as quickly as possible, with the role offering up to 60k, 3 days in the office, 2 days from home. The ideal candidate would be someone a short notice with experiecnce in Corporate Tax and VAT.

Responsibilities:

  • Compilation and analysis of financial data for various tax returns, including VAT, Corporation tax (using Alphatax).
  • Assistance with quarterly tax reporting.
  • Preparation of tax disclosures for inclusion in local statutory accounts.
  • Maintain and update process documents for Senior Accounting Officer compliance.
  • Preparation of the PAYE settlement agreement calculation.
  • Assistance with Country-by-Country Reporting.
  • Analysis of fixed asset data for capital allowances purposes.
  • Monitor and reconcile accruals for indirect taxes monthly.
  • Assist in providing information requested by HMRC for meetings with HMRC and by correspondence as appropriate.
  • Provide support and advice to the wider finance team.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Less than 1 month notice period.
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified preferred.
  • Direct tax and VAT experience essential (3+ years minimum).
  • Experience of using Alphatax software preferred.
  • Excellent excel and data analysis skills.
  • Analysis and reconciliation of large volumes of data.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail to ensure that work is accurate, and deadlines are met.
  • Enthusiastic with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as being able to work on own initiative.
  • Strong analytical skills and drive to understand the detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills - ability to identify potential issues and propose solutions.
