Financial Accountant

Job description


Independent financial advisory and asset management firm. Operating in 27 countries.
Looking to hire a finance professional to fill the position of Financial Accountant at our London Financial Advisory office. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Accountant (VP).

The role's responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of the annual statutory financial statements
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Accounting, disclosure, and reconciliation of the defined benefit pension schemes
  • Accounting of key non-compensation accruals and expenses
  • Participate in Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Accounting and reconciliation of Intercompany recharges and transactions
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis for internal and external reporting purposes
  • Ad hoc requests and project work when required



Key Skills:

  • 0-2 years+ post qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with strong analytical skills
  • PC literate with extensive familiarity of Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - articulate and confident, including ability to effectively liaise with various senior stakeholders within the business
  • Ability to prioritise, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
  • Accuracy and a high attention to detail
  • A high level of self-motivation, autonomy, and initiative
  • Ability to maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct


Desirable Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS102) and US GAAP
  • Experienced in preparation of financial statements and statutory reporting
  • Experience using IRIS accounts production software or similar
  • Experience of multi-currency accounting and consolidations
  • Experience of the SAP general ledger system and Analysis for Office
