The Consultancy Group are currently working with a global media brand on a 6 month contract for a Group Technical Accountant.
The role is ideally suited for a recently qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with an audit background, and two years post qualified experience in a dynamic multinational. The key requirement of the role is to support on the internal and external reporting requirements. They will be a key support for the local UK financial statements as well as the local and Group audits. This role will report into the Group Finance Director and support the teams reporting requirements during a period of significant projects and change. The role will include dealing with a number of key stakeholders internally and externally, management of strict reporting deadlines, and an understanding of group financial performance to a product margin level.
What you'll be doing:
-Prepare UK local statutory accounts
-Lead on all internal and external audit requirements and deadlines.
-Support on any new technical detail required by the global finance teams.
-Support with integration work of new acquisitions into IFRS consolidation and accounts
-Support with new policies on the finance sharepoint site (fixed asset and intercompany policies)
-Prepare ad hoc analysis/reports of financial data as required by various stakeholders
-Support with project work (financial system testing, feedback from project meetings, slides/output preparation for stakeholders, coordination/PM activity)
What we're looking for:
-Qualified Accountant with at least 2 years PQE in a consolidation role (multi-currency
preferable but not essential)
- Proven track record of similar roles/tasks in industry
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Experience in IFRS and FRS 101 preferred
- Good organisational ability, very pro-active and self-motivated
- Great communicator and great stakeholder management (finance and non-finance)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Knowledge of SAP and BW preferred
