Interim Finance Manager - 14mth FTC

A leading Media business are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager (14/15mth FTC), reporting to the Group Financial Controller. The key accountabilities and experience required for the role are listed below -

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of month-end reporting and analysis including preparation of the board pack and review with CFO
  • Responsible for the monthly P&Ls, developing in depth knowledge of these areas to be able to explain variances to budget/forecast.
  • Review and approval of journal entries for all departments
  • Management of three team members providing guidance, support and direction including review of their month-end figures and procedures
  • Involvement in the preparation of annual budgets/forecasts, which involves liaising with department heads and challenging assumptions in light of current trading patterns
  • Advise key stakeholders to ensure business and investment plans are accurately translated into budgets / forecasts to ensure operational integrity from a P&L perspective
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of reports for areas of responsibility · Develop a good understanding of key performance indicators used by the business, responding to requests for management information
  • Primary contact for the auditors and tax
Experience required
· Previous finance experience essential, including management accounts
· Team management essential, including performance management (e.g., setting/monitoring objectives, providing feedback, coaching) · Experience of a wide range of financial compliance activities such as statutory accounts preparation, audit and tax (including VAT) essential, with exposure to US tax compliance being advantageous.
· Media industry experience advantageous, but not required
· Business acumen and commercial awareness combined with robust numerical and analytical skills
· Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong academic record
