Are you CIMA/ACCA Finalist looking for a Senior Management Accountant role with a growth path to become a Financial Controller?

An established SME Media Agency are looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant with a Media or Marcoms background to join a finance team of 6. You will be supported and mentored by the current Financial Controller to take their place eventually as well as a CFO and MD.

The main purpose of the role is the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly management accounts and quarterly forecasting that requires detailed variance analysis and reporting. The role will also support on key financial objectives that promote driving efficiencies within the team but also within the business.

The Role

  • Calculation of accrued and deferred revenue in line with Revenue Recognition principals and preparation of journals
  • Prepare Net Sales for monthly Management Accounts reconciled to TB
  • Monthly variance analysis (by comparing to budget/forecast) and exception reporting
  • Monthly & quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of revenue related Balance Sheet control accounts
  • Assist with year-end audit by providing all relevant information to the auditors
  • Business partnering with business on a regular basis to collecting inputs from Client Leads and Client Finance to understand detail and feed into the rolling forecast and annual budgeting process
  • Continuously reviewing current processes and making improvements to allow better control or improved efficiencies

The Person:

  • Previous experience working in advertising / media with a good knowledge of media operarions
  • Intermediate level of Excel
  • Organised with good attention to detail
  • Quick to learn and adaptable to changing work allocation and able to prioritise workload to meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills to be able to provide insight into variances
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships both internally and externally with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
