Job Description

This position is supporting Head Office purchase ledger activities effectively and efficiently, including petty cash transactions, employee expenses and balance sheet reconciliations.

Qualifications and experience

  • AAT-qualified or equivalent or studying towards a qualification
  • Experience of purchase ledger work in a large business
  • Experience in dealing with VAT matters
  • Experience using accounting software packages
  • Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics an advantage, but not essential
  • Good practical working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in reconciliations and query-solving preferable

Responsibilities

  • Assist in administering purchase ledger activities for head office companies
  • Assist in paying authorised invoices within agreed timescales
  • Assist in managing foreign and sterling petty cash advances
  • Administer corporate credit card and O2 statements, ensuring accurate and timely ledger coding and processing
  • Assist in reconciling key balance sheet control accounts

Main tasks

  • Follow up on invoices awaiting authorisation with other members of the finance team, PAs and senior management
  • Liaise with suppliers as required
  • Assist in controlling, recording and following up all foreign and sterling petty cash advances
  • Follow up with employees on overdue corporate credit card or O2 bills and assist with reconciliation to the control accounts
  • Filing of financial records
