Job Purpose

A unique opportunity now available for an Applications System Analyst to work with one of the countires leading retail brands. You will have full ownership for the software development lifecycle, for ensuring all systems are fully supported and manage a team of Test & Support Analysts.

Job Objectives

  • Product owner for retail business information systems and applications
  • Ensure optimum application uptime by working closely with the IT infrastructure team and 3rd party vendors
  • Drive and participate in requirements gathering and analysis of new functionality in projects that involve IT retail business applications
  • Manage all aspects of application changes through the development lifecycle - Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment
  • Manage and provide support for IT retail business applications
  • Manage fault incidents with 3rd party vendors
  • Contribute to IT governance including the management of change requests in the IT retail business applications space and the creation /execution of repeatable project and support processes
  • Work closely with project stakeholders of all levels
  • Senior tester for IT retail business application changes
  • Supervise releases of new software including appropriate stakeholder communication and documentation
  • Manage and support the Test and Support Analysts ensuring that they work within the IT governed framework
  • Responsible for the documentation of IT retail business applications and any changes to these applications
  • Ensure the business obtain maximum benefit from IT retail business software through training and workshops
  • Support the business objectives through the evolution and introduction of IT retail business applications

Skills and personal attributes required

  • 5+ years' relevant experience in IT applications within a retail organization
  • Experience of software development processes and the development lifecycle
  • Experience with managing outsourced software development
  • A strong understanding of business processes and retail applications
  • Ability to manage a small technical team
  • A high attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • High level of confidence and the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff
  • Proactive and a positive approach to work
  • The ability to work as a team
  • The ability to use your own initiative to complete tasks
  • A history of promoting process improvement within the business
