Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Finance Controller in a fast paced, fast growing, international Fashion Retailer. Responsible for the UK wholesale arm, the role will report into our Head of Finance and work alongside our Retail Credit Control and Accounts team. If you are 2-3 years post qualifying, have a strong drive and ambition to achieve more and can easily adapt in an ever-changing fashion environment then we want to hear from you!

YOUR PROFILE

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with previous work experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in/or interested in working in the fashion industry
  • Audit background is desirable but not a prerequisite
  • Able to work to tight deadlines for ad-hoc collation and presentation of data at company meetings
  • Highly motivated, agile, detail and results driven with the ability to make an immediate impact
  • Experience with SAP accounting system is a prerequisite
  • Should be competent with Outlook and PowerPoint and excellent on Excel
  • Experience working in a cross functional environment able to quickly establish a good relationship with the colleagues across the business (logistics, head of brands, credit control and facilities)

THE ROLE

  • Prepare and review various monthly/weekly comprehensive management tools, including management accounts, sales reports, costs and break-even analyses and budgets
  • Responsible for the entire month and year end close processes for 2 legal entities at GL, AP & AR levels
  • Complete internal controls documentation
  • Responsible for completing the statutory audit and liaising with the auditors
  • Ensure that efficient and sufficient controls are in place, lead the internal controls review performed by the parent company and advise on areas of improvement
  • Analysis of different KPIs (growth, margin) and cost areas (logistics, marketing and operational costs)
  • Support the preparation of budgets and monitor performance against those
  • Administer various recharge agreements with the parent company and retail partners
  • Review monthly payroll information and perform analytical review on costs, hours and headcount
  • Prepare quarterly commission calculations
  • Prepare the quarterly VAT returns
