Job Description

The Consultancy Group is currently recruiting for an Interim Financial Accounting Manager to join a leading entertainment business on an 18 month FTC. This role is will also involve the successful candidate to take charge of a large amount of project work.

  • Overseeing the financial accounting team of 3 and support the Group Financial Controller
  • Provide continuity and support during the Finance transformation project to enable operations to run smoothly
  • Managing the year-end process and audit
  • Designing the group-level reporting for the enlarged group
  • Ensuring the Group is up to speed with upcoming changes to Corporate Governance
  • Engaging in technical valuations discussions with third party providers and the wider finance division
  • Acting as key player in translating IFRS 3, IFRS 13 and IFRS 16 to non-technical accountants and business leaders
  • Assessing the impact of recent large-scale acquisitions on the Group accounts and disclosures, and ensuring the Group's readiness for reporting
  • Completing a review of discount rates used across the Group and lead discussions to arrive at an appropriate central rate
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the fair value of the Group's shareholder loans and take the lead in communicating a challenging area to senior stakeholders with clarity
  • Gaining exposure to Tableau and other data visualisation packages
  • Taking a fresh look at the Group's interim balance sheet, and providing analysis for senior management
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified ACA (or overseas equivalent) with 3-4 years PQE, with proven management and financial accounting experience, confident with consolidations and double-entry bookkeeping
  • A good communicator who is at ease explaining financial information to Finance and non-Finance staff
  • Experience with financial accounts and statutory reporting, preferably with a medium to large company/audit clients
  • Keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Is approachable with an easy manner and helpful attitude
  • Confident, with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Good multi-tasker
